Accounting firm Habif, Arogeti & Wynne conducts regular surveys on Georgia's manufacturing, and Adam Beckerman, the firm's manufacturing & distribution practice group leader, had some good news of his own to share. Georgia companies have joined in the "jobs at home" movement. Beckerman said a survey conducted among attendees to a Next Generation Manufacturing event, held last October, found that of Georgia manufacturers in attendance, 74% indicated that they were hiring more employees inside the U.S. than outside and 35% agreed they are bringing manufacturing jobs back to their U.S. facilities and offices from other countries.
"All of this is great news for Georgia," Beckerman said. "Over the next five years, Georgia is poised to be a winner in the on-shoring game, because of our trained labor force, manufacturing heritage, and our transportation advantages, like the world's busiest airport and the port in Savannah."
