The counties of Northwest Georgia are actively working to meet the education and training needs of the region's industries — coordinating state, regional and local programs into a seamless talent pipeline.
Quick Start — statewide
Georgia's nationally acclaimed Quick Start program assesses workers and delivers customized, job-specific training using the most current techniques and media. It reduces waste, strengthens teams and gets new operations up to speed quickly — at no cost to qualifying companies.
Customized training — regional
Delivered through Georgia Northwestern Technical College, customized training addresses community-specific needs — developing supervisors, upgrading technical skills and improving customer-service capabilities for existing employers.
Local pipelines
- Catoosa County College & Career Academy partners with businesses to give students hands-on education in high-demand careers across the region.
- Walker Launch is a career-internship program that lets students earn an associate degree on the GNTC campus while receiving mentorship from an industry partner.
The result
A layered system — state, regional and local — means employers can find, train and retain the skilled workers they need, whatever the industry.
All four counties offer tax abatements on qualified real and personal property for new and expanding companies.
